Karson

Alright, I'll quit talking about Karson...really I will...just need to post a couple more pics of him. Teehee!! I really like this buck. He's a bit head-strong (super stubborn) but that's okay, with patience and guidence he poses nicely.

I wasn't kidding when I said he is WIDE :-)

This is Kade...Karson's brother, he's almost equally as nice.

Baby News

We are gearing up for one last major round of breeding for the August Longview show. The does are cooperative, its my poor little buck that is tired! LOL I just have one breeding buck at the moment so we will have to do some line breeding until I can find another buck. That's alright, I'm pretty excited about Ike and he is out of my old herd buck so I just need to be more patience and wait on him. I'll get the due dates up on the page soon, till then, check out the juniors page on the site...:-)

Missi to the far left(jr doe) and Karson, right by her. Kade is in the far back, he's Karson's brother but very nicely typed, plan to keep all 3 to grow out.

Karson up front...he's so incredibly Wide compared to the others, I have a hard time grabbing him with one hand, he's a solid fella!

My tenative keepers...showing off LOL

Babies going to their new homes soon! Just gotta keep on growing!
Ike...he's starting to look like his daddy, I think his head will really develop nicely and he'll look like a different rabbit this time next year...tis a shame I can't show him (back spot)

New Email

Well it looks like Hotmail gave me the boot! I haven't been able to log in for 3 days, they say thy are 'fixing the problem' but are unsure when it will be. So...I now have a new email address and you can contact me through my website. I'm afraid if I post it here, I might get bombarded with spammers. :-) Picture posts to come later this morning!

A special litter on the way!

I am excited to announce that I have a very special litter on the way! Kendall wasn't getting any younger and with her first show months away, I decided to go ahead and breed her. Most of my girls hold great condition after kindling so I'm not too worried. Fingers crossed everyone for a healthy delivery!

The parents(old pictures but you can get an idea! :-) )

Love is in the air!

It was a gorgeous day today! I was able to get Merci and Tige (TG3) bred today. Merci was very reluctant though :-/ I hope she has a nice, big healthy litter. This last round of breeding(6 does!) will be for Longview juniors in August. After these March babies I'm done done done! Until this summer or fall at least, hope my girls don't get too fat during their vacation.;-)
This is Dot...you can't tell from the picture but she has black hair in her forhead swirl on the top of her head, it looks like I marked her with a marker. I've called her Dot ever since I saw her. She likes to jump up at the top of the nestbox.
Awe! Karson isn't as cute as he was a few days ago...LOL Oh well, his head is still fairly wide, he is on the left and a baby buck, same age is on the right. See how narrow the head is? I've also noticed the wide set ear base is a good indicator for head width as well.
Last but not least, mister Buddy will be leaving me in less than two months :-( I have 2 does planned for breeding to him and Diva is due any day now. Hopefully I can get a nice little one out of him. I love those thick band! I get clean band babies and don't have to worry about thin bands or partial ones from him.

No Facebook

I no longer have facebook...just too much drama and unneeded stress involved with it. So I plan to post more updates about the bunnies on here. :-) Have a blessed week everyone!

Shoulder improvements!

I'm really pleased with the improvement in shoulders in my herd. Just about every baby had long, narrow shoulders a year ago. Now they're starting to look more cobby, definitely want to stay on track with that!
5 week old buck

10 week old buck, very nice and short!

10 week old doe-nice and cobby in type!

Cute baby, love those ears!

Good shoulders can be seen at 2 weeks, this baby should be nice!

Mom and kits, grow babies grow!

Ready for spring!

We're just starting February but I'm so ready for spring to be here! We got the garden tilled a few days ago and the soil looks 100x's better than it was last year. Huge improvement thanks to the rabbits!! My seeds were ordered and I can't wait to start them soon. Breeding plans were done this morning and it looks like I'm going to try for another big round of does due for juniors at the August Longview show. After that...I'm done with breeding for a while. Not because I want to but because I'm OUT of room! haha!
Look at this cutie! He is going to Shelley in April or May. :-)

Love those ears!

A rabbit nest...quite literally! I'm not sure what happened to the hair so I'm probably going to have to bring these babies in at night until they have more hair of their own.

Getting Excited!

Compared to last year, I feel like I'm a step ahead on getting a line started. My track record for keeping jrs was low, 1 out of every 10 would stay. Now, I've kept back 8 out of 30, it's a big jump! With litters in the boxes and more on the way, I am confident I could possibly have mostly 4King's buns in the barn by Christmas! :)
Lucy babies and a foster...yep the banded is the foster-haha! Lucy, you're making sport brood does look bad hunny....you're supposed to make marked babies!
Dixie (303) litter
Ike...who will never hit the show table because of a back spot.

XJ, he's pretty cute!

Edith will make a great brood doe one day!
Was a bit bored tonight so I took some updated pics of the barn, I love my little barn, I may not have a lot of holes or cages but I sure do like a low feed bill, and individual interaction on a daily basis.

Have a great weekend everyone!
