Just an update

Not much going on lately, I've been trying to think of some interesting posts on type, health, or anything really. If you have any suggestions please comment and let me know. :-) I kinda feel that I've covered a lot in my older posts but can revisit a topic if need be.

The babies are doing great, 5 of them will be moving on to their new home next week. The barn is going to look so empty without them!
The girls going to central Texas next week!

The boys, one will go to central Texas and the other to AR.:-)
Holly's litter are doing well, I've kinda picked a favorite already, its a little doe, and boy do I mean little. She's soooo tiny and compact. Just adorable!

3 peas in a pod

My favorite little doe...she's going to be nice!
Vinny wanted to meet his neighbor who really didn't want to meet him...bucks do not get along well at all. Too territorial to 'bond'. So it was a swift nose sniff. lol

Vinny and Austin
Amelia is already wanting to nest, she cracks me up with her hay mustache, I love it <3

The garden is doing well, fresh green beans hardly make it to the kitchen, they're so good just raw. Yum!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!

New litter and partial herd disposal-oh my!

5 or 6 show babies are leaving me....waaa....its alright though, they are going to help a new breeder get started in central Texas. I was planning on bringing them to Longview to show/sell but the new owners wanted them as a group and will be picking them up prior to the show. So, that includes 4 does and 1 (possibly 2) buck(s). I was looking forward to showing some of the jr does but I have one doe that is better in type so I will keep her and show her instead of spending the money on 3 other does that would be placed under her. Now I'm sure they will all blossom into beauties when they're older so I hope to have more competition on the tables this fall.;-) Woo hoo!! The bad thing is that now I'm more buck heavy than does....LOL. Waaa, oh well, there are litters on the way.

its going to be SO hard deciding who to keep because they're all super compact and full....why do you have to be bucks?! ;-)

Speaking of which....Holly had her litter this morning. 3 beautiful, TINY banded babies! 2 does and 1 buck....very pleased with that.
squirmy babies are hard to photograph!

So much cuteness!

Not much going on in the rabbitry this week. I've been sick with a sinus and ear infection...blah. Nothing like cute baby bunnies to make anyone feel better. Here are the boys!

I love this one's head/ears...the ears are so tiny, they kind stick out on the sides of his head like a Koala bear.

Kick Power!

I realize that title makes no sense at all unless you've been on the wrong end of a rabbit in its kicking fury! My babies do have tantrums and when I saw this cute cartoon, it was very fitting... I have a few that go into a kicking fit if they're picked up.

And this is one of them....lol! I was trying to pose her up, and that in itself I may be doing wrong, but I like to get those feet lined up and let them set their own headset- my hand is merely there to act as a barrier to  keep them from going forward, much like a starting gate in the Kentucky derby...heehee...;-)

Leave it to the boys...

Well it looks like there will only be boy babies going to convention at this rate! Lol! The first part of this year yielded some nice show does but they will be seniors at convention time and now all bucks have been born since then. :-)

Fingers crossed for some jr does to take to KS!

I can't wait to get this little guy, remember Pearl? She came for a date with BOJ 57 and I'm so excited to bring home his son to keep the lines in our herd. He is the one on the top shelf in the photo. <3 this boy, thank you Kate!

Growing up!

Not much going on at the barn lately, everyone is growing- whether it be growing babies or growing bellies.
The one to watch is the one on the far right-isn't he cute?!

My possible donation bunnies to our new club's auction at our show.

Abby, looking like a blue band here...weird!
Ah...Jennie going through the uglies.
These little cuties are looking nice!! Need some more growth but I think I'll keep them to replace their dams if they don't do well on the show table.

Addison...watching her teeth they are butting.

I'm dog sitting this week..my sister's dog on the right is a chocolate lab puppy and our dog is the one that looks like he's never fed(he's an Italian Greyhound). Wish we had meat rabbits, he might fatten up. lol
Feels like we're hitting the dog days of summer already and its not even summer yet!

Its a Jungle out there

We have rain on the way and so far its been a warm but relatively wet spring. The garden has proven very productive so far, wish I could say the same with the bunnies. Haha! Well I do have 1 litter of convention juniors but 2 other does didn't take so I'm hoping this next go around will be successful. We only have one shot for juniors at convention. Let's go girls!

It's a jungle!

Sweet little boys! Finally not an all girl litter.

Vinny, he has really blossomed!

New litter and some re-arranging :-)

Lucy had her litter this morning, 3 beautiful banded babies! They look perfect, I can't wait to see how they turn out.
3 banded cuties!

Looks so fluffy, wish I had a bed this warm and soft ;-)

I did some re-arranging yesterday and I love the layout a lot better. Initially I had the new stacker pretty much in the doorway as you came in. Now I have it along the other side of the wall to make an alley way in the center of the barn. I then moved the groom table and while it is a bit cramped, it still serves the purpose and I like that I can easily get to all of the buns.

Baby fever

I'm separating all of the girls this week. Each now have their own cage, Yay!! It's baby watch tonight as Lucy is due at any time.
Addison being Addison! Lol! She has such a cute personality.

Ooops! I think I mentioned wanting to add another breed since I was sure I wouldn't fill this stacker. Guess I was wrong about that. Heehee!

XEO posing for the picture....see where Addison gets it?
With all of these baby does everywhere I'm so glad to find out that our partnered breeding to my friend's doe, Pearl, has resulted in two little show bucks! Here is my little guy, I cannot wait to pick him up next month!!

I think my little guy is on the left and Kate's is on the right. :-) So precious!!

Adorable!!

Attitudes in the barn

Not much going on, just some crabby does and tough decisions. LOL I had to move Lucy to a new cage today and she's less than pleased. Tossing her nestbox around and grunting. She'll have to get over it!
"Go Away"

You'd think she's be happier being on the top tier with more lighting. ....Nope! She was ready to charge at me here.
Jordan is just not happy about anything. The crabby doe award will continue to be hers!
Decisions, decisions, it's always decisions in the barn on a daily basis. I don't know whether to keep Aviva's only living baby or not. She does have a blue eye spot which isn't a big deal but some breeders refuse to breed them. I don't know what to do and if she didn't have nice type then the decision wouldn't be so hard. I guess I'll keep her a while and grow her out.
