A successful day after a rough beginning

Whew! Finally after 12 hours of when I wanted to write this post, I'm able to sit down and take a break. This morning I woke up to a very distressed bun on the cam. Merri was rolling in her nestbox and breathing with her nose up to the ceiling. It was apparent she was in some pain but yet showed no signs of contractions. I watched her for about half an hour before deciding it was best to go back and get some more sleep. Another hour passed and I feared the babies were already dead with her being in labor for so long and as stressed out as she was. ....well she surprised me and had 4 healthy babies at about 6:30am. 3 banded babies and 1 sport! I have to say I was pretty impressed she was able to kindle without complications especially with her being a first time mom.

All in all, the day was a success with 4 healthy babies and a healthy mom.


Lucy's babies are getting fatter and growing some hair! So proud of my first time moms, they got it right the first time!
