Nail Clipping Video

Here is how we clip nails with our rabbits. There is a lot of controversy about grabbing the scruff of the neck...I think it is fine as long as you do not *hold* or *carry* the rabbit by the scruff of the neck without support. As you see in the video, her weight is supported the whole time. It's best to have a good hold on them than for them to freak out and kick, twist, or bite you while you're clipping.:-)

Thanks for posting!

Looks so much simpler than I had imagined.

Great video!

My favorite method, since I can never get anyone to help is to hold the rabbit on its back either in my lap or the bend of my arm then trim the nails.

Thanks ladies, I had a typo in my post, fixed it now. April, I'd love to see your method! I can never get them to relax in my lap on their backs long enough to clip their nails. How do you do it?

I'll get pics or a video to you about how I clip nails. :) It could just be my breed that makes it possible for me - Dutch are generally pretty docile rabbits.

I clip my mini rex all on my lap in the rabbit shed. I just sit down, legs together and hold their front paws with one arm to keep them from wiggling and then clip....
I was a vet tech...maybe its just easier for me to clip one handed?
