Telling gender at 3-4 days old

I took these pictures a few days ago of my babies and wanted to share how I tell genders at this age.

This is a buck. When you pull back the fleshy part you will see a tiny pin hole-not a slit and it will be more in the middle. It moves in position when you pull back and would actually be farther away from the anus if I could have pulled it back more but this baby was moving.

This is a doe. You will see a 'slit' like opening right near the anus. When you pull back on the fleshy part it will not move.

Where was this 2 weeks ago lol. I was trying to figure it out, but I got frustrated and gave up. I'll have to bookmark this for when I have another litter.

I'm impatient, I finally have a litter of 3, and I really want to name a litter after the kittens on the Aristocats.

You people are crazy lol. I don't even mess with them until 2 weeks and that's just to make sure eyes are open and clear! :P.

Hey Keep, I luck bugging my rabbits. Then when they're 2 weeks old, they come up to see me like the one I've nicknamed stinker did today =D

Jumped out of the box and everything, just so say good morning <3

Plus I'm guilty of parading them around the house constantly, showing them off to everyone in site.

I like entering stats. :-P Been right on all the previous litters all so far.

This is so cool. I had no idea that you could tell genders at such an early age. Now I need a litter to try it on...

Is 3-4 days the ideal age to check? Like is that the "gender window" until they get to be bigger?

Good question April, I have tried to tell like on day 1 and really couldn't because it is so swollen down there after being born. So I think by the time they start getting peach fuzz at 3-4 days it's much easier to tell. It's really easy...see a hole in the middle-buck, slit near the anus and doesn't move-doe. You should try it!
