Huge Babies!
Well my doe went skitso on me. Yesterday she was acting weird and started gnawing the wire divider, hopping around, in and out of the nest box, dumping her feeder over, trying to rip off her water bottle and THEN destroyed her beautiful nest. She took some hay/fur out of it and started to scratch out the babies. I have no idea what prompted this behavior but I since removed the nestbox and have the babies inside with me now for the fear that she will kill them. She is a first time mom so maybe she's having a mental breakdown-lol. On the bright side though, she fed them this morning and their bellies are tight and she is still full of milk. She tried to destroy the nest again after feeding them so they are back in the house.

I don't know what her deal is Kristen, I left them in this morning and just a few minutes ago I go out there and she turned the nestbox over!! Thankfully the babies are okay and back in the house but wow...she's not being nice to them. I think she nurses them to get relief from the fullness in her teats and that's it.
Wow, that's strange. Hope she is doing better. Those babies sure look super healthy and great, though! :)
