Look-a-likes

I have a little doe that is the result of a father/daughter crossing and she looks like a girl version of my buck XEO. :-) Heehee! I just love line breeding. Can't wait to see this girl as a sr doe!
Kendall (XEO x Abby(XEO daughter))

XEO....can you see the resemblance? They both have that flat nose and bug eyes.

In other news, I found out my hay had toxins in it causing necrosis in one of my babies(another breeder had this happen and the rabbit was found to have toxins in its system but the others were unaffected). This little guy had purple ears for a couple of days and then today it has started to rot at the tips. :-( So sad, but the others seem to be fine. Ugh.

**update** After doing research of my own, I truly believe this little guy has an auto-immune disorder called 'cold-agglutinin disease'. His symptoms are the exact same. It's very rare but can occur in rabbits. Here's some more info: http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/cardiovascular/c_ct_cold_agglutinin_disease#.UHl64IZ7R8E

Do you know what kind of toxins- was it mold, fungus, or pesticides? That's kind of scary! How did you figure out that was the cause of your buns problem? Poor little bun :(.

I was told by a friend that the exact thing happened to one of her babies and the vet told her it was toxins in the hay. Although, after researching this on my own, I believe it is an autoimmune disorder instead. Cold agglutinin disease describes the EXACT symptoms and triggers that this rabbit experienced. So I believe that's what's going on with this little guy. Here's more info: http://www.petmd.com/cat/conditions/cardiovascular/c_ct_cold_agglutinin_disease#.UHl64IZ7R8E
