We have a lot going on at the barn but here lately, its just been survival mode from day to day with this heat wave we're having. Temps are well above the 100+ range and all I can do is lock down the barn and watch the temp. remote keep me updated on the temperature in the barn. So ready for fall!

Buddy just hanging out near the door. He has really warmed up to me, when I first got him he would thump and run frantically around his cage. Now he comes to me for pats.

Baby girls! One is going to be leaving me soon, the others are going to be evaluated in a couple of weeks.

Holly had her litter on the 26th, unfortunately all were peanuts except one and that little one is a doe. She is fostered to Amelia's litter now. The sport was trampled, I'm afraid the bad storm that blew through that morning that had very close lightning strikes is what caused her to do that. :-( The others seem fine and healthy.

My old man, not feeling his oats lately, the Ivermec is really hard on him. He goes off feed/water for about a day or two after being dosed (smaller than pea size). Ugh, my DH just do not tolerate Ivermectin at all.

Abby is really wanting to be a momma!

Nestbox goes in Monday, she doesn't want to wait :-)

Hi Jamie! Peanuts are born with the double dwarf gene (dwarf gene x dwarf gene), it is always fatal for them. Usually within 2 or 3 days they die due to not having formed digestive systems. The ones that live either are normal(dwarf gene x non dwarf gene) or a false dwarf (non dwarf gene x non dwarf gene). It's sad to get peanuts in litters but at least it confirms that your rabbit does carry the dwarf gene. Only dwarf bunnies have this problem when it comes to breeding/raising these particular breeds. :-)
