Well today I got him out for Hannah and he sliced my finger pretty good. Blood was going everywhere, Hannah started crying and the rabbit was so big I couldn't grab him to flip him over and put him in the cage. It was chaos. lol One thing for sure....I'll tell the world...my thoughts of raising a meat breed or any breed over 6 pounds will not happen. I'll admire the big ones in pictures as I just can't physically handle the big breeds. As for Hannah she'll still keep her pet and is okay with Daddy getting him out for head rubs. ;-)

Awww, what a cutie! That is too funny about the size issues! I've never owned a dwarf before, so I'd probably have the opposite problem and they'd be getting away from me with how tiny they are compared to what I am used to, lol. :o)
Heehee! There's no way my 5.5" long hands could grab a harlie and flip them over. Maybe I could but I'm just not used to that much rabbit to handle;-) Some of my hotots have 1 3/4" ears and they are hard to grab so their shoulders just fit in the palm of my hand, the breed just fits me. lol Hope things are going well, been thinking about you lately! Back to more papers today, I'm a month ahead now so I'm going to keep going and try to finish early!! :-D
This is a mini lop? o.O lol
I'm glad your daughter has her loppy pet now :D
Well, its probably a mix ;-) but it weighs nearly 7 pounds so I was thinking it may be a mini lop?
lol you know, it looks to me like an Elop/Mini Lop mix. Mini Lops aren't supposed to be 7lbs
Is he a friendly guy other than slicing your finger open? lol
What did she name him?
O.o That's what my sister said too(there's ELop somewhere in there)! Oh yes, absolutely super sweet, very laid back. I was just trying to flip him over to check everything(wanted to be sure teeth and bits were normal and he was healthy and well...he power kicked and caught my finger which made a 2" slice right down it. I've got it butterflied and hoping that will hold and I won't need stitches but yeah, he's a handful...literally! Just not used to handling a rabbit that size I guess.
Oh! His name is Max...I was surprised she gave him an actual name, usually its something corny like spotty or Furry....yeah not even real names...silly girl. She came up with Max all on her own, can't wait to get some pictures of her walking him on a harness.
LOL He's cute. Sorry he killed your finger!!! haha My old "mini lop" sliced my finger a few times but then again he was a wild bunny. He was 8 lbs so I guess he wasn't a mini lop. I want to get a big rabbit. they are so fun to snuggle. I'm thinking about getting a Belgian Hare (sp?) for my big bunny. I've always loved their look and color. :D I think he could be a good bunny for Hannah. Could she possibly just open the door of his cage and he hop out and run around the yard and she can just follow him around and pet him? :) That way she could play with him while you are working on hotots. :)
