For the past 3 months I have had to switch to Purina Show due to the TSC store doing a poor job of keeping fresh feed. Today I've had enough. It's ridiculous how poor of a quality the Purina feeds are. Sorry if you feed it, your mill may do a fabulous job but the mill the feed store gets it from is just horrible. So much fines/dust and its so dry, it will crumble like sand in your hand. So back to Manna Pro we are. I'm going to finish the bag I have and then talk to Tractor Supply and BEG BEG them to keep fresh feed for me. I saw bags that were a year old on the shelf that they are still trying to sell. I have called the Manna Pro company and complained but all they did was send me coupons. :-/ There is a new guy at the store in the feed dept. so I'm hoping to convince him that I really need feed that is 3 months old or less-ideally speaking.

Unacceptable...and this was milled 2 weeks ago!! Not happy with you Purina!

On a good note, Diamond is definitely big time prego and due tomorrow. They were really moving around tonight. These babies are Lec's, the little buck I lost last week. May his legacy live on.
Here's Aviva in the lime light this evening. Since I don't have cute little ones to play with, she'll have to do for my Christmas picture. ;-)

I don't think I'll ever go back to Mana Pro. I've had rabbits go on hunger strikes with it, causing me to buy a bag of Purina just for one rabbit while I use up the Mana with the rest. It must not be good in my area, I've heard of rabbits dying on it. Then again, our Purina is really good here. Smells nice and fresh, when Mana always smelled old, and looked old. It's so funny how the feed differs in different places.
Very true. Sorry for sounding a bit irate...sounds like your mill is doing their job. Must be the severe drought that has produced such poor quality feed, I don't know for sure. Why can't there be a little more consistency across the country? Wonder if what is written on the tag is really what is in the feed? So many questions...
I am feeding Purina right now... switching off it again. Might be going to Kent or something.Plus the price is OUTRAGEOUS! $19!!!
I haven't tried Manna Pro in my area, but used to feed Purina Professional. My rabbits ate it and looked good, but I began having trouble getting it fresh, too. I now feed PenPals and my rabbits LOVE it. Found a local feed store around and...as a backup, I can order online too (It's pricey pricey though for shipping).
Purina $16 here.. wow. $19????? That's a lot.
I know its a little late for comments on this post, but I've been back tracking in your blog.
Just wanted to let you know that in my area THREE mini rex breeders have lost ALOT of stock due to Purina. I feed Manna Pro and have never had problems with my satins or Mini Rex....But after not being able to find mini rex due to lost rabbits around here I dont think I could ever feed Purina...
As for freshness, its been okay around here. We're on the Texas/NM stateline outside Morton, Texas.
